For every 100 men promoted to manager, only 86 women are promoted, according to McKinsey and Company’s Women in the Workplace 2021 report. But progress is being made, as 44% of companies have three or more women in the C-suite, which the report suggests could lead to gender parity in management roles within a decade.
- During Women’s History Month, NeuGroup’s Managing Director for Research and Insight, Nilly Essaides, spoke with Subadra Rajappa, managing director and head of US rates strategy at Société Générale, to discuss the challenges women face in rising in the ranks of finance organizations.
- Along the way, Ms. Rajappa shares her perspective on the importance of mentorship and employee resource groups that bring people with similar backgrounds together and why her belief that one positive effect of the pandemic may be a better understanding at companies of the need for employees, including working mothers, to have the flexibility to advance their careers while raising a family.
